Adjust Form Notification Emails

With SureForms, you can easily configure a form to send you an email notification whenever someone submits it.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the simple process of enabling form email notifications.

Note: Before you start, please ensure your WordPress emails are set up properly with SMTP.

Form Notification Settings

To access the form notification settings:

  • Go to SureForms > Forms and select any preferred form.
  • Click on Form Behaviour within the form editor.

By default, the form is configured to send all the form responses to your WordPress admin email address.

  • You can still click the Edit icon to change it’s default settings.

You’ll be shown the following screen:

The { admin_email } is just the input tag that automatically attaches your WordPress admin email address within the field.

You can experiment with different input tags within this screen.

Adding a New Form Notification

For this example, we’ll configure a new form notification email. To do that:

  • Click the Add Notification button.
  • Name: Enter a name for the notification (internal use only)
  • Send Email To: Provide the email address where you want to receive form responses.
  • Subject: Enter a subject line for the email.
  • Reply To: This is where replies to your email will be sent. 
  • CC: Sends a copy of the email to other people as well.
  • BCC: Sends a copy of the email to others secretly, without the main recipients knowing.
  • Email Body: This is the main content of your email. You can configure it to show the data from the form responses.
  • Go to Email Body > HTML, if you want to format your email body using HTML.

Using Shortcodes

You can use shortcodes to display different types of form data in email notifications:

  • Within the email body, you can use {all_data} to show all the data from the form response.
  • Click Add Shortcode to include specific form data like user email, browser name, dates, cookies, and more.
  • Click the three-dot icon next to the Subject to use shortcodes in the subject line.
  • Click Save Changes to apply these settings.

Don’t forget to enable the form notification that you just created.

Click the Update button in the form editor.

That’s it! You should now start receiving notifications whenever someone submits your form.

We recommend testing the form to ensure you get the responses correctly in your email.

If the form responses go to spam or aren’t sent to your email, please verify your SMTP setup.
